Swarovski Merry Christmas Crystal Ornaments

History of the Swarovski Annual Edition Ornament.  Really interesting and informative

*  The idea for the Annual Edition Christmas Ornament originally came from a Swarovski employee in the US. Enthralled by the
  magnificent decorations that covered the cities there, he brought the idea with him to Europe.
*  The first ornament was launched in 1991 with a red triangular packaging, a red ribbon and the year of issue marked on the piece
   itself and was available exclusively in the US.
*  Since 1993 the year of issue is engraved on a metal plaque instead of on the piece.
*  The design changed over the years alternating between a snowflake and a star in recent years.
*  Until 2009 the ornament was always held exclusively in clear crystal. In 2009 an SCS exclusive version in crystal with Golden
 Shadow coating was launched.
* The packaging was always the triangular box and is very iconic for the piece. The color however was changed several times as
 follows:
* 1991 + 1992: in red packaging
* 1993 + 1994: in blue and golden packaging
* 1995 until 2001: in white packaging. In 2000 + 2001 the year of issue was printed on the packaging
*  Since 2002: Swarovski blue packaging with name and year printed on the packaging
* Since 2013: Annual Edition leaflet included in packaging referencing to all Swarovski Annual Editions

It is never too late to start this wonderful tradition and we look forward to another 25 years of this icon's sparkling moments and wonderful memories that will enchant many more new consumers.
