Crystal Glass Art: The Story of the Frabel Studio
The Fräbel Glass Art Studio was founded in 1968 by Hans Godo Fräbel and is widely considered to be the first Glass Art Studio completely focused on creating Glass Art Sculptures out of boron Crystal. Some of the worlds most outstanding Glass Artists are collectively creating the most outstanding pieces of Glass Art in the Fräbel Studio in Atlanta. The glass crystal sculptures of this internationally famous studio with its contemporary glass artists are in the hands of many museums, private collectors and corporations.
One of the most famous crystal glass art pieces created by the artists of the Frabel Studio is the glass "Hammer and Nails" sculpture, which was displayed in numerous museums worldwide during the "New Glass" exhibition in the late 70s and early 80s. Other famous Frabel glass art pieces are the "Crystal Glass Faucet", on permanent display at the Smithsonian Institution, and the crystal glass "Profile" sculpture, on display at the Corning Museum of Glass.
