"Windswept" Redwood Abstract Sculpture by Daryl Stokes-SOLD Dramatic abstract wood sculpture composed of a central irregular redwood burl configuration which supports five angular geometric components. The rugged burl formation appears to flow upward and emanates through the smooth polished faceted planes. Each plane is extremely striking with exotic redwood burl grain patterns and natural irredescence. The personality of this sculpture changes and more intriguing aspects are revealed when it is viewed from different positions. This unique wood sculpture has been composed with individual redwood burls which have been carved with chain saws, shaped with grinders and hand crafted to further enhance the forms. The wood components are derrived predominately from the underground stump and root portions of redwood trees. Each sculpture is totally one of a kind and cannot be duplicated. All of the natural redwood used to create these sculptures has been salvaged from fallen trees which have been victimized from winter storms, landslides or forest fires, therefor no living trees have been utilized.
