The ancient art of producing hand crafted glass objects over an
open flame is re-enacted in each Townsend Glass sculpture. Using
the methods perfected by the masters over the centuries, each unique
and exquisite piece is individually wrought over a 3000 degree flame.
No molds are ever used. Some refer to the sculptures as multiple
originals as they resemble each other but no two are exactly alike since
they are sculptured one at a time. The artists have perfected their techiques
so finely that one would have to have a very fine eye for details to tell the
difference if similar pieces were placed side by side.
Our select group of gifted and highly skilled American artisans creates
each sculpture with great intensity of concentration, matched only by the
intensity of the flame itself.
These elegant forms in dancers and wildlife appear to be suspended
in movement as they leap and run. Each sculpture is individually signed
and dated after approval by a committee of Townsend Glass studio artists.
Townsend Glass sculptures make tasteful gifts and are elegant enhancements

About Designer Elizabeth Schnee
Born in Michigan and raised on one of its beautiful lakes, Elizabeth Schnee
has a deep love of nature that she vividly reflects in her etched glass wildlife scenes.
In addition to her nature themes, Elizabeth is equally accomplished in designing
intricately detailed cityscapes and custom art as well. She expresses herself as a talented
designer at Townsend Glass, Inc., a dynamic young company. Her studio is highly respecte
throughout the country for its expertise in custom crystal and glass etching. For the last several
years, Elizabeth has lived in the New York City area. And as the mother of four children,
she has donated vast hours of volunteer work as a parent leader in the New York City Public
Schools. I have been challenged by life in profound ways, she says, referring to personal
hurdles which confront her daily, and needless to say, these are fertile conditions for creativity.
