"The Observers" Abstract Sculpture by Daryl Stokes-SOLD
Abstract redwood sculpture depicting a peculiar grouping of angular forms which represent a duet of two surrealistic visages gazing at two other dynamic floating objects passing by. A third visage hovers above the group peering down on the ensuing event. The sculpture embodies striking characteristics of a rugged redwood base structure contrasting with the polished redwood burl geometric forms. The individual components of this design have been carved with chain saws to create the angular forms. Each geometric component is carefully sanded and polished prior to final assembly with steel bars. Finally, the sculpture is sprayed with a high quality clear oil finish which enhances the vibrant colors and redwood burl grain patterns. Each redwood sculpture is one of a kind and cannot be duplicated due to the inherent characteristics of the natural wood. Please also know that no living trees have been utilized in the creation of these works.
