Swarovski Nanuc - Polar Bear, Silver Crystal. Sold out
2008 Retirement. In recreating the atmosphere of the Arctic; in re-transcribing its subtle, ever-changing colours – which range from glacier blue to pale grey and radiant iceberg white, without any distinct contrasts – Swarovski once again breaks new ground in its work with crystal, and gives it a whole new aspect. As if emerging from a block of ice, sculpted in a natural, almost primitive way, a big polar bear known as "Nanuc" and an iceberg -"Iluliac" in the Eskimo language – impose their majestic presence as symbols of the white Arctic desert.
These two striking objects announce another major line from Swarovski, and express a new form of writing in letters of crystal. Like the facets of a new language, the polar bear and the iceberg are constructed like a 3D design of undeniable modernity. With the catching Swarovski succeeded to the atmosphere of the arctic regions, an area coined/shaped of a spectrum of tender, flaring, low-contrast colors - of glacier blue up to light-grey and radiating iceberg white - somewhat absolutely unique: an unparalleled gloss achievement in the tradition of the treatment of crystals, which lets the material in a completely new light appear. Like an ice block two naturally, almost ark-typically arranged figures - a stately polar bear and an iceberg, in the language of the Inuit "Nanuc" Polar Bear and "Iluliac" Iceberg, - appear risen and impress with their majestic occurrence as symbols of the white arctic desert."
