"Roll Over" Redwood Abstract Sculpture by Daryl Stokes-SOLD Intriguing redwood abstract sculpture consisting of four angular geometric planes suspended within an eratic redwood burlwood formation, mounted on a massive multi-faceted diagonal base. The individual planes interact to create a powerful visual motion of rising objects which pivot and rotate. As the viewer's eye moves from the lower angular tiers to the upper tiers, they appear to simulate the wing of a aircraft which is banking hard as it soars upward. Reversing the direction from top to bottom is also visually stimulating. The central irregular burlwood form also offers the viewer a perspective of a human head and torso with arms that are holding the boldly angled redwood tiers. This abstract sculpture has been composed with individual redwood burls which have been carved with chain saws, shaped with grinders and hand crafted to further enhance the forms. Each sculpture is totally unique and cannot be duplicated. All of the natural redwood used to create these sculptures has been salvaged from fallen trees which have been victimized from winter storms, landslides or forest fires, therefor no living trees have been utilized.
