Restoration vs Repair

Are you thinking Restoration? Repair? What's the difference? BIG DIFFERENCE!
According to the dictionary...

* To Repair is to "simply put together the figurine that is broken"
* To Restore is to "put the figurine back to original condition using replacement components when necessary"

Whether you have your crystal figurine Repaired or Restored, you will have to spend money. So, should you have it Repaired or Restored? Here are some considerations, advantages, and disadvantages of your options.

RESTORATION:
Advantage: Undamaged replacement components are used to replace all damaged components.
Consideration: Replacement components are not available from Swarovski, so they must be salvaged from other Swarovski figurines.
Disadvantage: Replacement components may be difficult to locate and may be costly. This can make restoration and be a bit expensive.
Advantage: Properly restored, no defect will be detected, and the piece will be ‘like new’ and retain full value.

REPAIRED Crystal:
Consideration: Broken component of the figurine must have little damage. (If the figurine is shattered, there is nothing to repair.)
Advantage: Less expensive, as no replacement components are required.
Repair Disadvantage: Though the figurine may look ‘good’ sitting on the shelf, it retains little value.
So how much does it cost to have figurines repaired or restored? There's no way to quote a flat rate for any job.
Please contact them directly from their website. They will need COMPLETE details on the item and damage. Most likely, the figurine will have to be sent to them for this estimate.
