"Migration"Redwood Abstract Wall Sculpture by Daryl Stokes-SOLD Sensational abstract redwood wall sculpture with a series of powerful, wave-like, elongated geometric forms moving togethor through a cluster of contrasting rugged burly appendages. This composition is very suggestive of an imaginary school of fish swimming through ocean corals. The polished angled wood elements thrust dramatically from right to left through the interwoven organic burls to create a visually exciting movement. This contemporary redwood wall sculpture has been designed with numerous redwood burls which have been sectioned and carved with chain saws, shaped with grinders and hand crafted to further embellish the forms. The wood components have been thoroughly sprayed with a durable clear oil and hand rubbed, producing a matt finish which reveals all the natural colors and exotic grain patterns. Due to the inherent characteristics of redwood burl, each wall sculpture is totally unique and cannot be duplicated. All of the natural redwood used to create these sculptures has been reclaimed the underground portions from fallen trees which have been victimized from winter storms, landslides or forest fires, therefor no living trees have been utilized.
