He also wanted to show how humans give animals a hard time. When man comes to the forest, he not only causes a widely spread forest fire, but also hunts and kills Bambi's mother. Who can possibly forget the tragic moment when Bambi learns of his mother's death? One of the great emotional scenes in the history of the movies. In the hands of master engraver Mats Jonasson, also a naturalist, the Bambi characters are as true as ever to Walt Disney's original.
