"Dream Tower" Redwood Abstract Sculpture by Daryl Stokes-SOLD An abstract architectural design redwood sculpture depicting a futuristic building which is a virtual tower. The monolithic tower is composed of a boldly multi-faceted burl base which supports several lofty angled geometric tiers. The tiers appear to emerge in and out of the natural organic burl formations giving it a surrealistic character. The viewer discovers more intriguing apects of the sculpture as he views each perspective. This abstract sculpture has been composed with individual redwood burls which have been carved with chain saws, shaped with grinders and hand crafted to further enhance the forms. Each sculpture is totally unique and cannot be duplicated. After taking a 10 year sabatical, Daryl has resumed creating magnificant abstract redwood sculptures. No living trees have been cut to create these works of art. In fact, Daryl has given new life, in the form of sculpture, to trees who have succumbed to the harsh winds of winter storms, lighting, landslides and other natural occurrences. These majestic giants live on in his artistic creations. Combining the organic burl with new geometric shapes, which offer a view of the beautiful grain, the artist, Daryl Stokes, is able to offer a one of a kind sculpture to be enjoyed for years to come.
