The Calla Lily is one of the most stunning of all the flowers in the Fräbel crystal flower garden. Each piece is individually handcrafted in heated boron glass byHans-Godo Fräbel Principal Artist of Atlanta's Fräbel Studio and then assembled in a black mounting to a striking presentation of this marvelous flower. When finished the sculpture is annealed (a gradual cooling which eliminates an otherwise inevitable stress) and inspected for the quality of the glass and craftsmanship and for its fidelity to the model approved by the principal artist. It is engraved with the date of its creation (on the peg which positions the piece on its mounting), and bears the registered FS signature of the Studio (in embossed glass near the bottom of the sculpture).
